OUR CUSHIONS
Inspired by timeless embroideries and patterns, learn a little bit more about the journey of our designs from the drawing board to your sofa.
A Characterful Collection
At Clothsmith we believe that the key to a characterful home is to curate items that resonate with you personally. We don’t believe in buying on trend items, but collecting things that will be loved and enjoyed over time. Our aim is to design joyful and uplifting pieces that will inject personality and warmth into your home. All of our cushions are designed with this in mind, and we hope they will bring a little bit of beauty to your everyday.
When designing our patterns, we turn to our ever evolving collection of textiles and embroideries amassed over the years to give us direction. They are an endless source of creative inspiration for us, each piece covered in delicate details and intricate patterns. Our collection of cushions fuse these delicate patterns alongside simpler, more bold designs. The idea is that all of our designs will sit happily alongside each other, adding depth and interest to a room.
Colour plays a vital role in the designs of our cushions. Our mission has been to create a collection of home textiles that radiate colour and personality but that have a softness to them. Our design process involves countless rounds of colour sampling, tweaking them until we have achieved the perfect tone that sits harmoniously within the Clothsmith collection.
The Finest Craftmanship
Our cushions are digitally printed and made in the UK by a small team of skilled seamstresses who we have worked with for many years. Whilst it can be much cheaper to mass produce items abroad, we have made a conscious decision to manufacture all of our homewares in the UK. This not only lowers the carbon footprint of the goods that arrive on your doorstep, but it also gives work to the highly skilled craftspeople in this country such as our seamstresses, printers and framers.
Our cushions are made with a soft linen cotton mix 260 gsm fabric that has a beautiful weight to it. The linen is OEKO-TEX certified, which means it has been rigorously tested to ensure it doesn’t contain any unsafe toxic chemicals and isn’t harmful for us or the environment.
